Wellness Walk @ Seidner Dune & Swale

Unwind and connect with nature with our Wellness Walks series, hosted by Shirley Heinze Land Trust, Purdue University Nutrition Education Program, and Community Healthcare System. Held on the 10th of each month, these FREE Wellness Walks will take place in various Shirley Heine nature preserves throughout Northwest Indiana and will focus on a variety of conservation, physical activity and health related topics from our partners.
September’s Wellness Walk will take place at Seidner Dune & Swale Nature Preserve on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 10:00 am CT.
Seidner Dune & Swale is an incredible area for birders and all nature enthusiasts, with a trail running parallel to the Grand Calumet. This event features a casual stroll through the woods, with opportunities to chat with healthcare professionals while learning about the local ecosystem. Our hike leaders will also demonstrate how spending time outside benefits your health.
Seidner Dune & Swale is located at 5501-5599 Kennedy Ave, Hammond, IN (just north of the Indiana Toll Road).

- Terrain: flat gravel trail
- We recommend to bring sturdy shoes and a water bottle.
