Volunteer Workday @ Lydick Bog

Lydick Bog is truly a place like no other. The rare bog habitat is home to many delicate and unique plant species, and all manner of wildlife and fungi thrive on the floating mat of peat- and the forest and field around it. Propagating native plants in an ecosystem like this one is crucial to preserving the species diversity and quality of habitat in the preserve. You can be part of this important stewardship work! Come out and join us to collect the seeds of asters, goldenrods, and more. Help us restore the area and gain a deeper appreciation for this captivating bog ecosystem.

Be prepared to work outside and dress appropriately for the weather. Conditions on the workday may be wet and will likely be cold. Volunteer workdays are held in all types of weather, although if conditions become hazardous during or leading into the workday, we may be forced to cancel abruptly. Your safety is our first concern! We will provide all the necessary equipment, gear, and water. We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle!
