Volunteer Workday at Hildebrand Lake

This volunteer workday is part of our Garlic Mustard Week initiative. During the entire week, we will be hosting various workdays focused on the removal of this destructive invasive species at various Shirley Heinze preserves, like Hildebrand Lake. It’s a chance to get some meaningful invasive management done across a wide swath of our service area.

Nature Highlights: The woods at Hildebrand Lake explode with a remarkable display of wildflowers in the spring. Trilliums, toothworts, trout lilies, and violets offer pockets of yellow, pink, white and blue. The varied wetland habitats at Hildebrand Lake — marsh, swamp, open water — harbor a diversity of faunal species.

What to Bring: Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.

Weather Policy: Rain or shine. Event will be cancelled in inclement weather. No rain date.

Amenities: No potable water.
