Volunteer Workday at Bourbon Woods

Volunteer efforts continue to bolster preparations to open Bourbon Woods for public enjoyment. Our focus has shifted from woody invasives to spring ephemerals. Help us transplant these specialized native plants from the new trail to other areas of the preserve where they can spread and flourish!
- Nature Highlights: SPRING EPHEMERALS like dutchman’s breeches, trout lily, and bloodroot. Old-growth forest with mature beech and oak. Moss-covered glacial erratic boulders. Woodpeckers and wide variety of other native birds. Many types of fungi.
- What to Bring: Long pants and boots (especially muck boots or other waterproof boots) are recommended. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.
- Length: 4 hours
- Weather Policy: Rain or shine. Event will be cancelled in inclement weather. No rain date.
- Amenities: No accessible outdoor restrooms, but parking will be available.
