Volunteer Workday @ Ambler Flatwoods

The dense, ancient forest of Ambler Flatwoods is home to a multitude of native plant and animal species. The state-dedicated preserve is an undoubtedly special place, and lately, we’re pouring a lot of love into the property. Alongside our current boardwalk project, we’re going to rejoin the campaign against invasive species that volunteers started last year. On Tuesday, November 26th, we’ll resume the removal of invasive species along the trail, enhancing the quality of the native habitat even further. Ambler will be looking better than ever! Come out and help us cut autumn olive, oriental bittersweet, and other unwelcome woody plants that, left unchecked, could outcompete the native flora.

Be prepared to work outside and dress appropriately for the weather. Conditions on the workday may be wet and will likely be cold.  Volunteer workdays are held in all types of weather, although if conditions become hazardous during or leading into the workday, we may be forced to cancel abruptly. Your safety is our first concern! We will provide all the necessary equipment, gear, light snacks, and water. We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle!
