CANCELED: Trail Beautification at Ambler Flatwoods
April 9, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT
Free
Due to predicted high winds and for the safety of our volunteers and staff, this event has been canceled; we hope you join us next time!
The branches from plants and the thorns from Multiflora Rose (MFR) that encroach into the trail corridors can be pesky or downright painful!
In order to create safe walking space on the North Loop Trail off the Pine Plantation at Ambler Flatwoods, join Adopt-A-Trail Volunteer Katrina Powers and Volunteer Coordinator Christine Maloney as we widen the trail corridor, remove invasive MFR, and create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our visitors.
Meet us at the small parking lot off W 900 N. Parking is limited here so carpool if possible. Alternatively, if you arrive early, you can park at the main parking lot off Meer Rd and enjoy a beautiful stroll through the Louise Landau Trail to the small parking lot before the workday begins.
Be prepared to work outside and with thorns, and dress appropriately for the weather. We will provide all the necessary equipment and gear, as well as granola bars and water, although we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle. Feel free to stay as little or as long as you’d like.
So that we can best plan for the event, please RSVP on our website at heinzetrust.org/events, by calling the office at 219-242-8558, or emailing volunteer@heinzetrust.org. For information about last minute cancellations, please check Facebook.
