volunteer kneeling on ground while digging up dirtHelp make a difference for this year’s International Day of Climate Action! Join us at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve to plant plugs for next year’s growing season, Monday, October 24 from 10 am to 1 pm Central Time.

Native plants are one of our best tools for climate resiliency, through stabilizing soil, acting as carbon sinks, and providing habitat for wildlife. This volunteer workday lets visitors make their mark by restoring the native plants at Meadowbrook while also beautifying the preserve. RSVP today to let us know you’re coming!

Please dress appropriately for the weather and come prepared with protective footwear, long pants, long sleeves, hat, and sunscreen: we’ll be working outside! There may be poison ivy, mosquitoes and ticks; we will have bug spray and TecNu on hand for your protection. All tools, gloves, and PPE will be provided. Water, snacks, and restrooms will be on site.

To help us with registration, please fill out the Volunteer Application and Volunteer Liability Waiver Form prior to your arrival!
