The Sounds and Sights of Insects at Night

Look for nighttime insects like moths, lightning bugs, crickets and katydids with local insect enthusiast Chris Joll and Shirley Heinze Land Trust. This week we will be especially highlighting Moths as it is National Moth Week! So, come on down and join as we celebrate Moth Week! You’ll get an up-close look at moths and other nighttime critters, discover why they are crucial to healthy ecosystems, and how to protect them and their habitats. Grab a headlamp or flashlight and meet at the pavilion at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve for a special nighttime program!

This event will be held at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve, which has an accessible parking lot and pavilion. Shirley Heinze Land Trust encourages visitors of all backgrounds and ages to participate in our programs.
