Volunteer! Seed Cleaning

As you can imagine, native plants are vital to the health and long-term viability of an ecosystem. That’s why our stewardship team takes great care to cultivate native species and remove invasive ones (to allow the natives to thrive). And that’s how you can help us!

By participating in our annual seed cleaning events, you assist Shirley Heinze by removing the chaff and other plant material off the seed bodies in order to improve seed distribution and germination rates. Let’s prep these vital native seeds!

Shirley Heinze will provide all necessary material and gear (we will host the seed cleanings indoors at the Meadowbrook office). We’d recommend bringing a reusable water bottle along.
