Celebrate Plastic Free July with Shirley Heinze Land Trust, Save the Dunes, and Friends of the Indiana Dunes!
Rebecca Prince-Ruiz started Plastic Free July in Australia in 2011 as a challenge for herself and her friends, which grew to 140 million participants in 2022 collectively preventing nearly 3 million tons of plastic from entering landfills and our environment. Now we’re inviting you to come learn more about the impacts of plastic pollution and what can be done to help.
Join us for games and activities from 11am- 12:30pm and an interactive hike led by our Programs Coordinator, Mari Patis, that highlights the far reaching impacts of plastic pollution from 12:30pm-2pm at Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve.
Be sure to dress for the weather, and we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.
