Paddle on the East Branch of the Little Calumet River

Indiana Dunes National Park, in partnership with the Northwest Indiana Paddling Association, Shirley Heinze Land Trust and Save The Dunes, invite you to join a paddling tour on the East Arm Little Calumet River. The tour will start in Chesterton at the Keith Walner Preserve and paddle to Howe Road in Porter.
For this event, you must bring your own kayak or canoe. Participants should drop off their boat at the Keith Walner Preserve parking area, where NWIPA and NPS personnel will be present starting at 9:00am, and then travel to Howe Road to park their car. A single bus will transport kayakers from Howe Road to Keith Richard Walner Preserve, so please be sure to arrive at Howe Road before 10:20 am so that the bus can leave on time at 10:30 am. Directions and a map will be emailed just prior to the event.
Space is limited. Each participant must register to take part in this event. Please also consider joining the Izaak Walton Miller chapter and Northwest Indiana Paddling Association, or make a donation on the REGISTER page.
