Nature in the Arts – Origami Animals – VIRTUAL
November 16, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CST
Free
Origami (which means paper folding in Japanese) dates back to over 1,000 years ago! You can take part in this traditional art form through our Origami Animals webinar, our last Nature in the Arts of the year. Join Programs Coordinator Mari Patis in creating jumping frogs and flying birds—the same animals you can find in Shirley Heinze Land Trust’s nature preserves.
You will learn the basics of origami, then dive into making animals, all from the comfort of your home. RSVP today to save your spot and! The Zoom link to join will be emailed prior to the event.
Please note that this event’s date has been changed to November 16th.
Don’t have origami paper? You can make you own using any rectangular piece of paper, folding the corner to the edge, then cutting off the excess as shown here:
You can also get a jumpstart and learn basic origami folds here, most importantly mountain, valley, and petal folds: https://origami-resource-center.com/origami-basics/
