Mothing @ Meadowbrook
June 16 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm CDT
FreeYou may see them gathering around your lights at night, but how much have you really thought about moths? How the number of moth species outnumber butterflies at a ratio of 9:1? Or how all those moths pollinate our native wildflowers under the cover of night?
Learn more about these beautiful and beneficial insects with local moth enthusiast Chris Joll and Shirley Heinze staff at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve. You’ll get an up-close look at moths and other nighttime critters. Grab a headlamp or flashlight and meet at the pavilion at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve for a special nighttime program!
This event will be held at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve, which has an accessible parking lot and pavilion. Shirley Heinze Land Trust encourages visitors of all backgrounds and ages to participate in our programs. Check our events page for more, or donate to help us continue providing environmental education opportunities to everyone.
