Meadowbrook Monday – Woody Invasive Removal

Meadowbrook has some of the prettiest views in the Region, but invasive species like multiflora rose, oriental bittersweet, and autumn olive have begun to encroach on some of the trails. We removed a large amount of invasive species over the summer, but we still have plenty to cut. This time of year we turn our attention to taking out species with woody stems. Invasive species removal is a great way to get an intimate look at the preserve while helping to ensure that native plants and wildlife can continue to thrive here.

Be prepared to work outside and dress appropriately for the weather. Conditions on the workday may be wet and will likely be chilly. We will provide all the necessary equipment, gear, light snacks, and water. We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle!
