Meadowbrook Monday
Seed Cleaning Social Indoor Volunteer Event
Join on Meadowbrook Monday January 23rd we will be having a Seed Cleaning Social from 9pm-12pm. Volunteers will be INDOORS with our staff as we clean native seeds that will be distributed at a Shirley Heinze Preserve! As you can imagine, native plants are vital to the health and long-term viability of an ecosystem. Our stewardship team and volunteers take great care to cultivate native species and remove invasive ones (to allow the natives to thrive).
By participating in Meadowbrook Monday, seed cleaning social , you assist Shirley Heinze in removing the chaff and other plant material off the seed bodies in order to improve seed distribution and germination rates. Let’s prep these vital native seeds! Here is a list of Native Plants you will work with >> NATIVE PLANTS IN THE LANDSCAPE
Shirley Heinze will provide all necessary material and gear for the volunteers (we will host the seed cleanings indoors at the Meadowbrook office). We’d recommend bringing a reusable water bottle along.
