Meadowbrook Monday
It’s getting close to that time of year when we turn our attention to taking out species with woody stems. Invasive species removal is a great way to get an intimate look at the preserve while helping to ensure that native plants and wildlife can continue to thrive here. Volunteers did an outstanding job last year of canvassing the entire area in and around the Americans with Disabilities Act accessible trail. We’re going to keep that momentum rolling this year by covering the area again, cutting the stems and vines that grew this season and hitting those we may have missed last year.
Be prepared to work outside and dress appropriately for the weather. Conditions on the workday may be wet and will likely be chilly. Volunteer workdays are held in all types of weather, although if conditions become hazardous during or leading into the workday, we may be forced to cancel abruptly. Your safety is our first concern! We will provide all the necessary equipment, gear, light snacks, and water. We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle!
