male cardinal bird perched on bare branchJoin South Bend-Elkhart Audubon and Shirley Heinze Land Trust for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count! Carol Goodall of the South Bend Elkhart Audubon will lead participants in trying to find as many birds as possible. Lydick Bog Nature Preserve, which offers fantastic birding due to its diverse and unique habitats. Whether you’re new to birding or an avid birder already, this is a great way to get outside while contributing to valuable data for bird sightings.

Please note: This event will start 8:30 am Eastern Time.

New to birding? Download the Merlin Bird ID app, which can identify birds based on photo and audio (much like Seek or Shazam!).

If you are an experience birder, you can upload your findings to the eBird Mobile app.

Find out more about the Great Backyard Bird Count on their website!
