Garlic Mustard Pull @ Lydick Bog

May 11 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Free

The different stages of garlic mustard to help with identificationHelp us remove garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) from Lydick Bog Nature Preserve. This invasive plant can spread quickly as it release compounds that prevent other plants from growing. Garlic mustard pulls this time of year are crucial to prevent the plants from flowering, seeding, and spreading even further.

We will meet at Lydick Bog Nature Preserve on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1 pm ET.

This work day will only require sturdy shoes, long pants, and your own water and snacks. The workday may involved hiking off trail, so please be mindful of uneven terrain. Prevent ticks by wearing long pants, socks, and insect repellent. There is no potable water at the preserve. No tools required—garlic mustard can simply be pulled out of the ground (just make the roots get pulled out, too!).

Be sure to RSVP to join us for an afternoon of stewardship, and thank you for keeping Lydick Bog Nature Preserve beautiful!
