Forest Bathing @ Meadowbrook
September 15 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am CDT
Free
Restore the body and mind with a relaxing forest bathing walk through Meadowbrook Nature Preserve. Learn about the history of forest bathing, or shinrin yoku, and how to incorporate it into your everyday life!
The hike will take about 1.5 hours over trails that range from flat gravel paths to moderately uneven terrain (small inclines, stairs, and bare roots). We will stop along various points to take in the views and practice forest bathing exercises.
This hike is part of the annual Indiana Dunes Outdoor Adventure Festival. Looking for a later hike in St. Joseph County? Join us in the afternoon for Forest Bathing @ Lydick Bog from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm EDT, and check out the Outdoor Adventure Festival website for even more events and programs.
Meadowbrook Nature Preserve is nestled on the Valparaiso Moraine and features old-growth forest and riparian habitat with a rich variety of flora and fauna, as well as remnants of the Meadowbrook Girl Scout Camp.
