Free
Restore the body and mind with a relaxing forest bathing walk through Lydick Bog Nature Preserve. Learn about the history of forest bathing (shinrin yoku) and how to incorporate it into your everyday life!
This hike will take approximately 1.5 hours along a mix of raised boardwalk to moderate inclines. We will stop along various points to take in views and practice forest bathing exercises.
This hike is part of the annual Indiana Dunes Outdoor Adventure Festival. Looking for an earlier hike in Porter County? Join us in the morning for Forest Bathing @ Meadowbrook from 8:00 am – 9:30 am CDT, and check out the Outdoor Adventure Festival website for even more events and programs.
Lydick Bog Nature Preserve features a kettle-lake bog with tamarack trees, sphagnum moss, and other key bog plants. Established as an Indiana State Dedicated Nature Preserve, the landscape features both upland and wetland ecologies to form one of the most biodiverse Shirley Heinze Land Trust preserves.
