Festival de la Monarca: “Día de Paseo/Field Trip” Bilingual Butterfly Hike
September 18, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT

Join local experts to celebrate the Monarch’s migration through our area with a bilingual butterfly hike at the Grand Calumet River Conservation Area in Hammond, Indiana.
We will explore a 1.3-mile loop trail to observe monarchs and other butterflies nectaring on the abundance of native flowers in this beautifully restored natural area. Participants will receive free milkweed plants and a free copy of the new Pollinator Garden Landscaping Guide by Save the Dunes.
Pre-registration is limited to 30 participants, so confirm your registration today at https://forms.office.com/r/dLPDn0rkWX. Your registration confirmation will include a map, directions and parking instructions. Note: the trail is fairly easy but does have coarse gravel and stone, and little shade is available.
Sponsored by: The Nature Conservancy in Indiana in partnership with Shirley Heinze Land Trust, Save the Dunes, the Field Museum, U.S. Forest Service and Audubon Great Lakes.
