Community Hike @ Bayless Dune

Join Shirley Heinze Land Trust and St. Barnabas Church for a free community event at Bayless Dune Nature Preserve (8837 Pottawatomi Trail, Gary, IN 46403)! This preserve features a beautiful dune landscape adjacent to the Indiana Dunes National Park.
We’ll meet at St. Barnabas Church @ 10am CDT to meet other community members and enjoy complementary coffee and refreshments before the hike begins.
- The hike will begin at 10:15am CDT, and it will be led by the Bayless Preserve Steward, Tom Cera. Total length of the hike will be about 1 mile long.
- Check out tables and activities from community partners, including Indiana University Northwest first-year medical students, the Field Museum, and Faith Farms.
- Participate in nature-based crafts and activities.
- Enjoy fresh fruit, snacks, and hot dogs!
