Birding – October Big Day @ Seidner Dune & Swale

Join for some guided bird hikes at land trust properties across the state.

October Big Day is coming up, and we want YOU to join our amazing Land Trusts around the state for a morning of fall birding. Explore with Indiana Audubon Society, Indiana Land Protection Alliance, and Shirley Heinze Land Trust while contributing to citizen science in these diverse nature preserves.

Join renowned local birder Matt Kalwasinski at Seidner Dune & Swale Nature Preserve, a popular pit stop for migrating birds and waterfowl such as great blue herons, green herons, and egrets.

All October Big Day birding events require an RSVP through Indiana Audubon. Please register through their website. Spots are limited, so sign up now!

Hikes are FREE and begin at 9 a.m. in each location’s respective time zone. Participants should dress appropriately for hiking and bring binoculars—or cameras if you have them.
