Birding – October Big Day @ Lydick Bog

Join for some guided bird hikes at land trust properties across the state.

October Big Day is coming up, and we want YOU to join our amazing Land Trusts around the state for a morning of fall birding. Explore with Indiana Audubon Society, Indiana Land Protection Alliance, and Shirley Heinze Land Trust while contributing to citizen science in these diverse nature preserves.

Join renowned local birder Evie Kirkwood at Lydick Bog Nature Preserve, a biodiverse preserve that contains upland and wetland habitat. Lydick Bog is considered one of Shirley Heinze’s best birding locations, and now features a birding observation deck along the northern portion of the trail.

All October Big Day birding events require an RSVP through Indiana Audubon. Please register through their website. Spots are limited, so sign up now!

Hikes are FREE and begin at 9 a.m. in each location’s respective time zone. Participants should dress appropriately for hiking and bring binoculars—or cameras if you have them.
