Fall Equinox Hike @ Lydick Bog

Where do frogs and insects go when it gets cold? Why do leaves change colors and fall off the trees every year? Discover all the changes that come with the transition from summer to fall at our Fall (or Autumn) Equinox Hike at Lydick Bog Nature Preserve! Volunteer Naturalist Jan Hunter will take you through the upland forest and to the bog as you search for signs of autumn.

What to Expect:

• Nature Highlights: The last wildflowers of the season; jewelweed seed pods; migrating birds
• What to Bring: Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.
• Length: Just over a mile long. The 0.3-mile trail to the boardwalk is accessible gravel and boardwalk. The upland trail is varying width and terrain with a few short, steep slopes (up to 45 degree angles)
• Weather Policy: Rain or shine. Event will be cancelled in inclement weather. No rain date.
• Amenities: Accessible outdoor restrooms and parking will be available. No potable water.
